Bone & Brine (in-world)
Bone is a forest goblin, older than anyone remembers — including himself. Gruff, grumpy, and endlessly possessive, he hates selling things because he’d rather hoard them all for himself. Every relic is a treasure he swears should “never leave the shelf.” Yet beneath that thorny exterior lies a quiet brilliance and a heart of gold, with an undeniable talent for shaping and safeguarding the relics he collects.
Brine is a sea fairy with a heart so buoyant it might float away. Always cheerful, she isn’t intentionally mischievous — things just tend to tilt that direction around her, especially with her bright view of the world (and worlds). Bone insists the relics are cursed. Brine beams and insists they’re charmingly cursed.
She believes everything deserves love — even the ugly, the haunted, the gross, or the downright unsettling. Where Bone sees danger, Brine sees delight.
He’s been tolerating her sunny mischief for longer than even he cares to count, and he’s very much done with it. Nobody knows how (or why) they became a duo, but together they are Bone & Brine — purveyors of rare artifacts with questionable origins.
